Heritage Place

Heritage Place was one of the very first residential redevelopment projects when Mayor Pollard and the city council got started with urban renewal in the late-1990s. This is a two building complex covering two city blocks that front the north side of Esther Short Park. The building features some ground level retail and restaurants as well as secure underground parking for residents. All units are above street level. Building completed late 1999 or early 2000.

This location is ideal for those who like to hang out at the endless stream of events in the Park from Thursday night concerts, Farmers Market, and several large events every year. Esther Short Park is your front yard.

According to city records, Block Ten across Columbia Street to the east will be a new high-rise residential building that will feature a full size super market on the ground level. That addition would make Heritage Place Condos about as walk-able as possible. I did a community review here: Community Spotlight: Heritage Place

*Updated 9/19/2022, a pre-app submission for a three story tuck under apartment building just north of the west building at the corner of 9th and Daniels was submitted last month. This is a small 20 unit development that should have a minimal impact of Heritage Place.

* Updated 11/8/2021, a pre-app submission for a 9 story mixed use building immediately north of Heritage Place East was made last week. If completed the project will partially obstruct views to the north of Heritage Place. The building is not a full block project like Holland to the east.

*Updated 8/23/2021, Holland is fully topped out and nearing completion on the Block Ten. The apartment tower directly across the street from Heritage Place to the east is 7 floors and eliminates most views from east facing units at Heritage.

*Updated 11/4/2019, Holland Partner Group submitted scaled back plans for Block Ten as far as the height is concerned. However the net effect on Heritage place is the same. The Block will have a 7 story residential tower facing Columbia Street, that will effect views to the east from Heritage Place. The 11 story office tower facing Washington Street was shortened to 6 stories and should be roughly the same height as the 7 story residential tower.

*Updated 8-19-2019, additional details regarding Block Ten, the building will cover the entire block but will have two separate towers that rise above the 3rd or 4th floor, these will be the 11 story office tower and a 7 story residential tower. This will effect east facing views at Heritage. The grocery store will likely appear elsewhere downtown.
